Baby watches the fish and bats at it making it sway, resulting in a fun reaction that encourages her to try again.
Towards the end of this stage, baby will begin to try grabbing at the
Lady Fish
with her hand and bring it to her mouth for further exploration, as she focuses on the teether tail.
Baby’s grasp reflex disappears and she has better control of her hands, allowing her to reach out confidently, grab the fish to bring the teether tail to her mouth for further exploration.
She rubs the discs and feels the sensations.
Playing with this toy
Let your baby hold the toy so that she can explore it with her hands and mouth.
Attach the
Lady Fish
to the Gymini® Activity Gym, ActiviTot™ Developmental Gym, or baby carriage so that he can easily see the toy and reach his hand out to touch it. Because babies cannot reach beyond their mid line, it is important to hang the toy to the side.
Show her how to turn the discs on the fish’s body to hear the clicking sounds.
Baby learns how to operate the
Lady Fish
– to hold it in one hand and turn the discs with the other hand to hear the fascinating clicking sounds, or alternatively to hold the body discs in her hand while turning the tail or head.
