Baby Bunny

NEW!

Baby will love playing with her colorful Baby Bunny. She will enjoy hearing the rewarding sounds of the crinkly ears and sweet sounding bell chimes, and will have fun touching the textures and pulling on the bunny's springy legs.

Developmental Values
The Senses
  • Baby Bunny’s expressive face, colorful body and black & white legs encourage your baby to look at it developing her sight.
  • The bunny’s rustling ears and the pleasing soft ringing bell sound that babies love best of all, develop the sense of hearing.
  • The combination of plastic and fabric develops her sense of touch.
  • As baby hears, sees and feels the Baby Bunny, she develops these senses and the coordination between them.
Gross Motor Skills
  • When baby tries to reach her hand out to the Baby Bunny in front of her she lifts her arm as one unit, an action which starts where her arm meets her shoulder, strengthening these muscles and those all along her arm. These muscles are part of the group of muscles used when developing gross motor skills.
Fine Motor Skills

Baby uses her hands in different ways, practicing and developing fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Following are some activities she may perform:

  • Bat at the bunny dangling in front of her.
  • Hold it in different ways and shakes it to hear the sounds it makes.
Cognition
  • When baby bats the toy causing it to sway, or rubs it to hear the crinkly sound, she learns the connection between her actions and their reactions.
EQ
  • The pleasant, soft sounds have a soothing effect on baby.
  • The ability to be soothed by outside stimulation is the basis for learning to calm oneself.
0-2m
  • Baby enjoys the soft, delicate sounds stimulating her sense of sight and hearing.
  • As these sounds calm her, they foster her emotional development.
2-4m
  • Baby spends much time watching the toy dangling above her.
  • She randomly reaches out with her hand, bats at the toy, causing it to swing and make pleasing sounds – a captivating effect that encourages her to try again.
  • This is how her random movements gradually become intentional, developing eye-hand coordination.
4-10m
  • Baby’s grasp reflex disappears and her control of her hands improves, allowing her to reach out confidently to bat the toy and make the fun sounds.
  • She catches the Baby Bunny by its feet and pulls them to her mouth for further investigation.
  • She can now hold the bunny by its different parts – its feet, hands, body – and can rub the ears to hear the crinkly sound.
