Spin-Ball

The Spin-Ball offers appealing multi-sensory stimulation. The different "slices" are in a rainbow of colors to elicit a harmonious feeling, and to develop the ability to differentiate between colors.

Developmental Values

The Senses

  • The Spin-Ball offers appealing multi-sensory stimulation. The different "slices" are in a rainbow of colors to elicit a harmonious feeling, and to develop the ability to differentiate between colors. The mirrored internal side panels create interesting reflections. On the internal vertical axis, there is a two-sided smiling face.
  • All this produces an interesting visual effect that stimulates baby's sense of sight.
  • The moving parts emit a pleasant "klik-klak" sound, and the rotating face offers a soft rustling, to stimulate baby's sense of hearing.
  • The texture, in the form of little bumps on the slices, invite baby to grasp and touch them, and to feel the difference between the rough external surface and the smooth internal surfaces.

Fine Motor Skills

  • The Spin-Ball offers diverse opportunities for baby to practice fine motor skills and perfect hand-eye coordination, and the coordination between both his hands.
  • Baby can hold the ball in one hand, move it and transfer it from one hand to the other.
  • She can also move the segment slices back and forth, and toss the ball to the floor – practicing her ability to release objects or roll them on the floor.
  • As her ability to separate her fingers improves, she can play with the toy using more and more skills, such as leafing through the segment slices, or rotating the axis with the faces on it with one hand.

Cognitive Skills

  • The Spin-Ball's unique and intriguing shape stimulates baby's curiosity and invites her to grasp and explore all the things she can do to manipulate it: elicit sound, roll it, move the segments from side to side and more.

Object Permanence

  • The Spin-Ball's structure and shape are perfect for creating peek-a-boo games, by hiding and revealing the face and its parts. This helps baby develop a sense of the concept of object permanence.
Age tips
  • The Spin-Ball offers a wide variety of play options for the 6 to 9-month-old.
  • She can grasp the toy, move it from hand to hand, and listen to the pleasant sounds it makes. This helps develop baby's fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and her understanding of cause and effect.
  • On the floor, baby can roll theSpin-Ball forward and crawl to reach it. While playing, the internal face image appears and disappears, creating and inviting peek-a-boo-type games.
Playing with this toy
  • Play peek-a-boo games with your baby. Hide a portion of the face with a segment and ask, "Where's the boy?" Then reveal the image. Occasionally hide the entire face.
  • To encourage crawling, place the ball in front of your baby when she is lying on her tummy, and spin it or roll it. This will invite her to move forward to grasp the ball, roll it forward and crawl forward to catch it again.
  • After baby has independently explored and created her own way of playing with the Spin-Ball™, show her new ways to enrich the play experience.
